The Telangana Budget 2026 is set to be presented shortly in the Assembly, with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka scheduled to deliver the financial statement for the upcoming year. Ahead of the presentation, the state cabinet, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is expected to approve the budget in a key meeting.

This year’s budget is likely to see a significant increase, with estimates suggesting it could touch around 3.35 lakh crore, marking a notable rise compared to the previous year. The government appears to be placing strong emphasis on welfare programs, agriculture, and education as core priorities.

Major schemes are expected to receive substantial allocations, including Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima, Indiramma housing, and the Mahalakshmi scheme. In addition, support measures such as bonus incentives for fine rice farmers and funds for subsidized rice programs are also likely to be included.

The budget is also expected to introduce new initiatives aimed at students and youth. Proposals may include expanding meal programs for college students and introducing a breakfast scheme in schools, which could benefit a large number of students across the state.

There are indications that the government may enhance financial support under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, increasing the assistance amount to one lakh thirty thousand rupees. Additional proposals could include pension support for elderly temple priests and new measures for tribal welfare.

Sports and inclusivity are also expected to find a place in the budget, with possible allocations for para athletes, including housing support and incentives. Furthermore, the government is likely to earmark funds for employee health schemes to strengthen public service benefits.

As the Assembly session begins, all eyes are on the government’s announcements, with expectations high for a budget that balances welfare commitments with long term development goals.
