Tata Unveils Powerful Harrier EV Variant with Dual Motor Technology at Competitive Price
Tata introduces a new high performance Harrier EV variant with dual motor system, strong torque, advanced features, and off road capability at a price aimed at wider customer reach
India’s electric vehicle market is heating up as Tata Motors expands its lineup with a more powerful version of its flagship SUV. The company has introduced a new Fearless Plus QWD 75 variant of the Tata Harrier EV, positioning it as one of the most capable electric SUVs in its segment. With a focus on performance and practicality, the launch signals Tata’s intent to strengthen its presence in the growing EV space.
At the heart of this new variant is a dual motor quad wheel drive system designed to deliver better traction and stability across different terrains. The SUV produces an impressive 504 Nm of peak torque and can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just over six seconds. This level of performance brings it closer to what is typically expected from high end vehicles, while still being offered at a relatively accessible price point.
The new model is also equipped to handle challenging driving conditions. It offers multiple terrain modes, including dedicated off road assist and boost functions, allowing drivers to adapt the vehicle’s performance based on road conditions. This makes it suitable not only for city driving but also for adventurous off road trips, which is becoming an important factor for SUV buyers in India.
Inside the cabin, the focus shifts to comfort and technology. The SUV comes with powered front seats for both driver and co driver, ventilated seating, and a 360 degree camera system for enhanced visibility. It also features a premium JBL sound system, large alloy wheels, and a dual zone automatic climate control system with voice assistance. These additions aim to provide a premium in car experience for users.
Safety remains a strong highlight, with the vehicle receiving a five star rating under Bharat NCAP standards. This reinforces Tata’s emphasis on passenger protection alongside performance. The company has also introduced a new exterior shade called Seaweed Green, adding a fresh visual appeal to the lineup.
Pricing has been set to attract a broader audience. The new variant starts at around 26.49 lakh rupees ex showroom, while additional costs apply for charging equipment and installation. An optional fast charger is also available at an extra price.
Speaking about the launch, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility’s chief commercial officer Vivek Srivatsa noted that customer response to the Harrier EV has been encouraging, with thousands of units already delivered across the country. He emphasized that the introduction of this powerful dual motor variant is aimed at offering greater value and performance to customers looking to switch to electric mobility.
With this launch, Tata is not only raising the bar for electric SUVs in India but also making high performance EV technology more accessible to everyday buyers.
