Hyundai introduces refreshed Exter with premium design upgraded safety smart connectivity and multiple engine options aiming to attract urban buyers seeking an affordable compact SUV with modern features

In a bid to strengthen its presence in the compact SUV segment, Hyundai has launched the updated Hyundai Exter at a starting price of around 5.79 lakh rupees ex showroom. The new version brings a combination of fresh styling, enhanced features, and improved safety, targeting city drivers and young buyers looking for value packed mobility.
The company has already seen strong demand for this model, with over two lakh units sold across India. With the latest update, Hyundai is aiming to build on that momentum by offering a more refined driving and ownership experience.
The new Exter stands out with a redesigned exterior that leans into a bold SUV character. It features a black radiator grille, diamond cut alloy wheels, and a sporty spoiler that adds to its road presence. Hyundai has also focused on practicality, offering a long wheelbase that translates into better cabin space and improved comfort for passengers.
Inside the cabin, the car gets a noticeable upgrade. A dual tone interior theme in navy and grey, along with a textured dashboard finish, gives it a more premium feel. The addition of a sporty steering wheel and adjustable driver seat enhances comfort, while rear passengers benefit from improved seating support.
Technology has become a key highlight in this update. The vehicle now includes a dashcam, wireless smartphone connectivity, and expanded connected car features. Rear passengers also get dedicated charging ports, and the infotainment system supports over the air updates. The inclusion of an electric sunroof further adds to its appeal, especially among younger buyers.
Under the hood, the Exter continues with a reliable 1.2 litre petrol engine, available with both manual and automated transmission options. For those looking for fuel efficiency, a CNG variant is also offered, featuring a dual cylinder setup designed to optimize space and performance.
Safety has been given significant attention in this refresh. The car comes equipped with more than 45 safety features, including electronic stability control and hill start assist. Importantly, six airbags are now standard across all variants, reinforcing Hyundai’s focus on passenger protection.
Buyers can choose from a wide range of color options, including newly introduced shades and dual tone combinations. Bookings for the vehicle are open across dealerships and through the official website with a nominal initial payment.
With a competitive price point and a strong list of features, the updated Exter is expected to intensify competition in the entry level SUV space. For many buyers, it presents a balanced package of style, safety, and modern technology without stretching the budget.
