WhatsApp Introduces Call Scheduling Feature for Voice and Video Conversations
The new WhatsApp feature allows users to schedule voice or video calls with friends, family, or colleagues, sending automatic reminders and notifications to all participants seamlessly.

WhatsApp has rolled out a practical feature that lets users schedule both voice and video calls directly within the app. With this addition, there is no need to rely on third-party video conferencing tools like Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams for planned conversations.
This feature is designed to simplify communication, especially for those managing multiple contacts or busy schedules. Users can set a specific date and time for their calls, choose between voice or video, and let WhatsApp handle notifications for all participants. This eliminates the hassle of manually informing each person about the call.
Scheduling a call on WhatsApp is straightforward. First, open the app and navigate to the Calls section. Under the Calls menu, tap on the Schedule option. From there, you can select the desired date and time for the call, choose whether it is a voice or video call, and optionally set a reminder to alert participants minutes before the call begins.
Once the details are set, tap Next and select the contacts you want to include. WhatsApp will automatically notify everyone involved, and users can also add the event to their calendar. Scheduled calls can be edited later from the Chats or Calls section if needed.
If you want to cancel a scheduled call, open the Calls section, select the upcoming event, and tap Edit Calls followed by Cancel Event. A notification will automatically inform other participants. Alternatively, you can delete the call for everyone by selecting the Delete for Everyone option.
This new scheduling feature also generates a joining link for the call, making it easy to share with other participants. It is particularly helpful for coordinating with friends, family, or colleagues who have conflicting schedules, ensuring conversations happen on time without missing anyone.
In addition to the convenience of scheduling, WhatsApp’s built-in reminders alert users 10 to 15 minutes before the call, keeping everyone on track. This thoughtful update positions WhatsApp as a more integrated solution for both personal and professional communication.
