K. T. Rama Rao has announced a statewide padayatra planned for 2027, aiming to reconnect with people and strengthen the party’s presence across Telangana.
Speaking to the media, KTR said the padayatra will begin from Mancherial and focus on understanding public concerns at the grassroots level. He described the initiative as a key step toward rebuilding the party’s connection with voters.
The BRS leader made it clear that the party will contest upcoming elections independently, ruling out any alliances with national or regional parties. He stated that past experiences with alliances did not yield expected results, and the party is now confident of standing on its own.
KTR also shared his views on the proposed delimitation of constituencies, noting that an increase in Assembly and Parliamentary seats could create new political opportunities. He said the party would support proportional expansion without affecting the existing share of representation.
Outlining the party’s electoral strategy, he emphasized the importance of selecting candidates based on their ability to win and connect with voters. He added that leadership changes may be considered in certain regions, including the Godavari belt, to strengthen prospects.
At the same time, KTR acknowledged certain shortcomings during the previous BRS government, including gaps in coordination with grassroots leaders and limited engagement with local representatives. He also admitted that a comprehensive policy for Gulf migrants was not fully addressed.
Criticising the current government led by Revanth Reddy, KTR alleged issues in the implementation of welfare schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, delays in loan waivers, and challenges in student fee reimbursement.
Expressing confidence, KTR said the upcoming padayatra will help rebuild trust and energize party workers. He asserted that BRS is determined to make a strong comeback in the next elections by focusing on public issues and organizational strength.
