The Telangana government is preparing to roll out the Indiramma Family Life Insurance scheme with the aim of expanding social security coverage for families across the state. As part of the process, a large scale household survey will begin from June 2 to identify eligible beneficiaries and ensure smooth implementation.

The scheme, announced in the state budget, is expected to benefit nearly 1.15 crore families. Officials believe the initiative will provide financial protection to households and strengthen support systems during unexpected situations.

A cabinet subcommittee chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka recently reviewed the implementation process and instructed officials to conduct a detailed door to door survey across the state. The objective is to collect complete social and economic information from households to ensure transparency in selecting beneficiaries.

Authorities are also planning to organize special camps at village and ward levels for beneficiary identification and public outreach. A separate logo is being designed for the insurance program, and stickers carrying the scheme branding will reportedly be placed at homes after the survey process is completed.

Under the proposed plan, eligible families are expected to receive life insurance coverage worth Rs 5 lakh. The government aims to extend these benefits without discrimination based on social or economic background.

Officials explained that the insurance support could become an important financial safeguard for families during difficult situations. Experts also noted that individuals can legally hold multiple life insurance policies, though policy details must be properly disclosed while obtaining additional coverage.

Meanwhile, the government is also preparing to hold the concluding events of the Prajapalana Pragathi initiative from June 2 to June 12, with activities focused on public awareness, welfare programs, environmental campaigns, and development projects across different sectors.
