A sudden spell of unseasonal rain accompanied by strong winds and hailstorms swept across several districts of Telangana, bringing both relief and destruction. While the showers eased the intense heat that had troubled people in recent days, the impact of the storm left a trail of damage in many regions.

In several parts of Nalgonda district, paddy stored at IKP centers was soaked due to heavy rain, leading to significant losses. The situation worsened as strong winds uprooted trees, disrupting traffic on key routes. The main road connecting Haliya to Nalgonda saw multiple blockages, while traffic came to a halt for nearly half an hour on the Addanki Narketpally highway in Tipparti mandal after trees collapsed onto the road.

The storm intensified in mandals such as Nakrekal, Kattangur and Kethepally, where hailstorms combined with gusty winds caused widespread damage to standing crops. Farmers expressed deep concern as crops that were close to harvest were severely affected. Similar weather conditions were reported in districts including Warangal, Suryapet, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad and Siddipet, where thunder, lightning and heavy rain struck suddenly.

In a tragic incident, a farmer lost his life after being struck by lightning at an IKP center in Soodanapalli village of Kuravi mandal in Mahabubabad district. The incident has caused shock among local residents.

Authorities have advised people and farmers to remain cautious during such weather conditions. They warned against staying outdoors during thunderstorms and urged the public to avoid taking shelter under trees to prevent further casualties.
