A tragic road accident in Mahabubnagar district left five people dead after a high speed sports bike collided with a car on the bypass road. The incident has once again raised serious concerns about illegal bike racing activities allegedly taking place regularly on the stretch.
According to preliminary information, the sports bike was reportedly travelling at nearly 140 kilometres per hour when it rammed into the car with massive force. The impact of the collision proved fatal for both the bike riders and members of a family travelling in the car.
The deceased from the car were identified as Arshiya Begum aged 30, seven year old Ujepa, and two year old Amar. The bike rider who died in the crash was identified as Yakub Afzal, a 25 year old biker from Hyderabad. Another person travelling on the bike also lost his life in the accident.
Locals in the area alleged that the bypass road has increasingly become a hotspot for dangerous bike racing during late hours. Residents accused authorities of ignoring repeated complaints and failing to take strict action against reckless riders using the road for racing activities.
The accident scene reportedly shocked passersby and local residents due to the severity of the collision. Police reached the spot soon after the incident and shifted the bodies for postmortem examination while beginning an investigation into the cause of the crash.
Residents are now demanding stronger traffic monitoring, speed control measures, and strict action against illegal racing to prevent such tragedies from happening again on the bypass road.
