The Telangana government on Monday launched the statewide Education Week celebrations as part of its Praja Palana and Pragati Pranalika initiative aimed at improving the public education system and encouraging greater participation in government schools.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to formally inaugurate the programme at LB Stadium in Hyderabad during a major public event in the evening. The celebrations will continue until May 17 with a series of educational and awareness activities planned across the state.
Officials said the main objective of the initiative is to strengthen government schools, improve educational standards, and highlight the reforms and achievements introduced in the education sector. Students, teachers, and parents are expected to actively participate in the programmes throughout the week.
As part of the schedule, special coaching classes will be conducted for students who failed Class 10 examinations. The government will also organise the Acharya Jayashankar Badibata campaign to encourage admissions into government schools and increase awareness about public education facilities.
Library Day celebrations and several student focused programmes are also planned during the week. Authorities will create awareness about major initiatives including the Young India Institute of Excellence and improvements in school infrastructure across Telangana.
During the inaugural event, the Chief Minister is expected to distribute laptops, present merit awards to students, and honour KGBV students who qualified for IIT Advanced examinations. The government is also likely to discuss future plans such as introducing Artificial Intelligence based learning systems and constructing 100 integrated schools in the state.
Large crowds are expected to attend the event at LB Stadium, prompting police to announce traffic restrictions in surrounding areas from evening until night. Officials said the celebrations are designed to encourage public participation in transforming the education system and building better opportunities for students across Telangana.
