Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka called for stronger support from the central government to help states implement large scale environmental and waste management initiatives. He emphasized that long term development goals require sustained financial and technical assistance.

Speaking during the review meeting of Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, Bhatti highlighted the importance of treating waste management as a broader development mission rather than limiting it to routine sanitation work.

He urged the Centre to provide substantial support for projects related to waste processing, recycling systems, circular economy initiatives and power generation from waste materials. According to him, such projects can play an important role in building environmentally responsible cities while creating long term economic value.

Bhatti said Telangana is already moving toward environmentally focused development under its Vision 2047 roadmap. He explained that the state has started taking several measures in line with national waste management reforms aimed at improving urban sustainability.

He also spoke about technology based initiatives designed to improve waste collection systems. The state plans to strengthen household waste collection through QR code based monitoring while introducing thousands of electric sanitation vehicles in major urban areas.

Highlighting ongoing efforts, Bhatti mentioned that scientific waste processing work is progressing at dump yard locations through advanced methods. He also referred to proposed Eco Town projects inspired by international models, saying they could become important milestones in Telangana’s transition toward a circular economy.

He stressed that waste management should evolve into a public movement under the idea of transforming waste into useful resources and creating cleaner and healthier communities for the future.
