  • Telangana Cabinet meeting date changed
  • Key policy decisions under discussion
  • Indiramma housing plans reviewed

The Telangana government has postponed its Cabinet meeting originally scheduled for May 21 and shifted it to May 23. The meeting will now take place at the Secretariat in Hyderabad under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

The change in schedule is believed to be linked to the commencement of the Saraswati River Anthya Pushkaralu, a major religious occasion beginning on May 21. With several ministers expected to participate in the spiritual event, the government reportedly decided to revise the Cabinet schedule.

Apart from the date change, attention is now focused on several important issues likely to come before the Cabinet. One of the major subjects expected to receive detailed discussion is the second phase of the Indiramma housing scheme, which is set to begin across the state from June 2.

The government is preparing guidelines to identify deserving beneficiaries under the housing initiative. Officials are expected to discuss ways to ensure assistance reaches genuinely eligible families. Plans are also being framed to provide financial support of Rs 5 lakh while allocating houses across different constituencies.

The upcoming Cabinet session is also likely to review several welfare and administrative matters. Discussions may include approval of new pensions, speeding up pending irrigation projects and decisions linked to land registration value revisions.

The government is also expected to review expenditure control measures across departments as part of broader administrative planning. With multiple policy decisions awaiting approval, the meeting is expected to play an important role in shaping future state programs.
