Women seeking employment opportunities in Telangana may soon have a major opportunity as the state government is preparing for large scale recruitment in Anganwadi centers. Officials are working on plans to fill a total of 15,982 vacancies across the state.
The recruitment process is expected to begin this year after authorities complete the necessary approval procedures. District wise notifications are likely to be issued after the government finalizes guidelines related to educational qualifications and the selection process.
Among the proposed vacancies, around 12,882 positions are for helpers while another 3,100 posts are for teachers. The government has also considered newly created jobs along with vacancies that arose due to retirements and promotions of existing staff.
At present, Telangana has 35,781 Anganwadi centers where more than 71,000 people are working. Over the past few years, many positions became vacant because of staff retirements, promotions to supervisor roles and employees moving into permanent jobs in other departments.
Along with recruitment, the government is also planning infrastructure upgrades across Anganwadi centers. Officials are expected to provide electricity connections, drinking water facilities, toilets, RO plants and LED screens at several centers. Permanent buildings are also planned for nearly 1,000 locations.
The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities for women while also improving facilities at child welfare centers across Telangana. Authorities are expected to release more details and official notifications in the coming weeks.
