Telangana is moving ahead with a broader strategy to position itself as a leading state in digital transformation, with a strong focus on delivering government services directly and efficiently to people. State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the government is working with a clear vision to create a model that other states can follow.
Addressing the Digital Transformation Finance Summit 2026 organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in Hyderabad, the minister said a detailed roadmap is being prepared to make citizen services more transparent, accessible and efficient. He explained that the plan aims to bring government services closer to people through technology driven systems.
Sridhar Babu said the global economy is rapidly shifting toward digital systems and traditional methods are being replaced by new technological approaches that are reshaping industries and governance. He added that Telangana has emerged as an important growth driver in India’s digital journey and is actively preparing for future demands.
The minister also said the state is building a strong ecosystem focused on next generation innovation, skilled talent and economic growth. According to him, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and cyber security are opening new opportunities in sectors including finance.
At the same time, he cautioned that technological progress also brings challenges. Cyber fraud, deepfake content, crypto related scams and cyber crimes are becoming major concerns. He suggested that chartered accountants should expand their role beyond financial auditing and give more attention to cyber assurance and digital security practices.
In another development, Tesla representatives in India met Sridhar Babu and expressed interest in beginning sales operations in Hyderabad. The company is also preparing plans to open a showroom in the city in the near future.
