Samsung Expands Premium AI Features to Older Galaxy Phones and Tablets With One UI 8.5 Update

Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for older Galaxy smartphones and tablets, bringing flagship AI tools, improved performance, and new software features to eligible devices.

Samsung users with older Galaxy smartphones and tablets have a major reason to celebrate as the company has started releasing its stable One UI 8.5 update for several popular devices. The latest software version, based on Android 16, is now reaching more users globally after its initial launch in South Korea earlier this month.

The new update is especially important because it introduces advanced Galaxy AI features that were previously limited to Samsung’s premium Galaxy S26 lineup. With this move, Samsung is bringing high end software experiences to older flagship and mid range devices, giving users access to smarter tools without upgrading to a new phone.

Reports suggest that the stable One UI 8.5 update is now available for Galaxy S23 series devices in India. Users have shared online that the update comes with firmware version S91xBXXU9FZDP and carries a download size of around 4GB. The rollout has also started for Galaxy S24 series smartphones and selected Galaxy tablets in multiple regions.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra models are also receiving the latest update. The standard Tab S11 variant is getting firmware version X736NKOU5BZE3, while the Ultra model is receiving firmware version X936NKOU5BZE3. In South Korea, Galaxy Tab S10 FE users have also started receiving the update, which reportedly has a size of 2.8GB.

Apart from flagship models, Samsung has extended the update to mid range smartphones including the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36. This shows the company’s growing focus on offering premium software features across different price categories instead of limiting them to expensive devices only.

One UI 8.5 introduces several new Galaxy AI tools designed to improve productivity and creativity. Some of the highlighted features include Call Screening, Agentic AI support, Creative Studio, continuous AI image generation, and an upgraded Audio Eraser tool. These additions are expected to improve user experience for photography, communication, and content creation.

Samsung users in India and other international markets are expected to receive the update automatically in phases. Those who have not received it yet can manually check by opening Settings, selecting Software Update, and tapping Download and Install. Users are also advised to connect their devices to a stable WiFi network before starting the installation process to avoid interruptions during the update.
