Redmi 5G Smartphones Get Sudden Price Hike in India
Popular Redmi 15 5G and Redmi Note 15 5G smartphones with large batteries and high resolution cameras have become costlier across all variants after a sudden price revision.

Buyers planning to purchase a new Redmi smartphone may now have to spend more money as Xiaomi has increased the prices of its popular Redmi 15 5G and Redmi Note 15 5G models in India. The sudden revision has raised the prices of all variants by up to Rs 2000, making the devices noticeably more expensive overnight.
The two smartphones had gained strong popularity in the mid range segment because of their combination of large batteries, 5G connectivity and high resolution cameras. Many users were considering these phones as value for money options, especially for gaming, photography and long battery usage. However, the latest price revision could influence buying decisions for customers looking for budget friendly 5G smartphones.
According to details revealed through a leaked Xiaomi partner document, the new pricing has already come into effect across the country. Both devices are now available at revised prices across retail and online platforms.
The Redmi 15 5G has received a price increase across every storage configuration. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, which was earlier priced at Rs 18499, will now be sold for Rs 20499. Meanwhile, the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version now costs Rs 22499 instead of Rs 20499. The top end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model has also become costlier and is now priced at Rs 24499.
The Redmi Note 15 5G has also witnessed a similar jump in pricing. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model now carries a price tag of Rs 26999, compared to its earlier price of Rs 24999. At the same time, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant now costs Rs 29999 after the latest increase.
Despite the higher prices, both smartphones continue to offer specifications that appeal strongly to mid range users. The Redmi Note 15 5G features a 6.67 inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, designed to deliver smoother visuals during gaming and video streaming. The phone is equipped with a 108MP primary camera along with an ultra wide lens and macro sensor, helping users capture detailed photos in different lighting conditions.
For selfie photography and video calls, the device includes a 20MP front camera. It is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen series processor and houses a 5520mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, allowing quicker power top ups during daily use.
The Redmi 15 5G focuses heavily on battery life and large screen entertainment. It comes with a 6.9 inch Full HD plus display and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and multimedia performance. The smartphone packs a 7000mAh battery, which is expected to attract users who need longer backup for gaming, streaming and multitasking.
Photography features on the Redmi 15 5G include a 50MP primary rear camera paired with a depth sensor for portrait shots. On the front, the phone includes an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 5G chipset aimed at delivering stable performance during multitasking and everyday usage.
Industry observers believe the price increase could be linked to rising component costs and changing market conditions in the smartphone industry. However, the move may also push some buyers to explore competing brands in the same price segment.
Even after the hike, Redmi’s latest 5G smartphones remain among the feature packed devices in the mid range category. Still, buyers who were planning to purchase these models may now need to reconsider their budgets before making a final decision.
