Telangana continues to face severe heat wave conditions while weather experts warn of delayed monsoon activity and rising temperatures over the next several days.

  • Telangana Heat Wave remains severe
  • Heat Wave warning for three days
  • Telangana rainfall likely after June 5

Telangana is experiencing intense summer conditions as rising temperatures and strong heat waves continue to affect several districts across the state. Weather officials have warned that the current heat conditions are likely to continue for the next three days before any noticeable relief arrives.

The state has witnessed extremely high temperatures with Vemulapalli in Nalgonda district recording a maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius. The heat has become so intense that several regions are experiencing difficult daytime conditions, making it challenging for residents to move outdoors.

Authorities reported severe heat wave activity across 145 mandals spread over 16 districts. Bhadradri Kothagudem recorded the highest number of affected mandals followed by Mancherial, Suryapet, Khammam, Peddapalli, Jagityal and Asifabad. Northern Telangana districts are among the areas facing the harshest impact of the current weather pattern.

The weather department has also issued Red Alerts for Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts where temperatures are expected to remain above 45 degrees Celsius. Orange alerts have also been issued for several districts during the coming days.

While the state struggles with severe heat, weather experts say the arrival of southwest monsoon winds may be delayed this year. Due to the influence of El Nino conditions in the Pacific region, monsoon activity has slowed down and rainfall is now expected to reach Telangana only after June 5.

Initially, forecasts suggested that monsoon systems would advance earlier into southern India, but changing weather patterns appear to have altered that timeline. Experts believe the delay may also influence rainfall patterns during the July to September period.

Despite the heat, there may be some temporary relief as a few districts are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall along with thunder and gusty winds in the coming days.
