Lava Shark 2 5G Arrives With Massive Battery and Smooth 120Hz Display

Indian smartphone maker Lava has expanded its budget 5G lineup with the launch of the new Lava Shark 2 5G. The company is targeting users who want long battery life, reliable daily performance and a clean software experience without spending too much money. The smartphone will be available through offline retail stores across India starting June 10, 2026.

One of the biggest highlights of the device is its massive 6000mAh battery. Lava says the phone is designed for users who spend long hours watching videos, browsing social media and attending online classes or work meetings. According to the company, the device can deliver more than 13 hours of YouTube playback and over 12 hours of screen on time on a single charge. The phone also supports 18W fast charging, helping users quickly power up the device when needed.

The Lava Shark 2 5G features a 6.75 inch HD Plus display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate is expected to provide smoother scrolling, improved animations and a better gaming experience compared to regular displays in the same price range. The device also comes with an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and light water splashes.

Performance is handled by the octa core 6nm UNISOC T8200 processor. The smartphone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Users can also expand the RAM virtually up to 8GB for improved multitasking. Lava claims the phone has scored over five lakh points on AnTuTu benchmarking, making it suitable for entertainment and daily usage.

For photography, the smartphone includes a 13MP AI powered rear camera along with a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. While the camera setup is modest, Lava says it is tuned for social media friendly photos and basic photography needs.

Another major attraction is the software experience. The Lava Shark 2 5G runs on clean Android 16 without unnecessary ads or pre installed spam applications. Lava has also promised one Android version upgrade and two years of security updates, which is considered a strong commitment in the affordable smartphone category.

The smartphone has been launched at a starting price of Rs 11,999. Buyers can choose between Sonar Gold and Arya Blue color variants. Lava is also continuing its Free Service at Home support, allowing users to access customer service assistance without visiting a service center.
