HMD Vibe 2 5G Creates Buzz as First Sale Ends Within an Hour

HMD has surprised the smartphone market after its newly launched HMD Vibe 2 5G sold out within just one hour during its first sale on Flipkart. The company itself admitted that the response from customers exceeded expectations, especially in the budget smartphone segment where competition remains extremely intense.

The biggest attraction behind the smartphone appears to be its aggressive pricing and feature packed offering. HMD introduced the phone at a special launch price of Rs 9499, making it one of the most affordable 5G smartphones currently available with AI based features. Customers from both metro cities and smaller towns reportedly showed strong interest in the device immediately after the sale went live.

According to the company, the HMD Vibe 2 5G is also the first smartphone in India under this price range to feature Sarvam AI powered Indus functionality. This feature, along with a premium looking design and practical specifications, seems to have played a major role in attracting buyers during the first flash sale.

The smartphone comes with a large 6.7 inch HD Plus display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother scrolling and a better viewing experience for users who enjoy gaming, watching videos or spending long hours on social media apps. The device runs on an octa core Unisoc processor clocked up to 2.3GHz, paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage.

HMD has also focused heavily on battery performance. The Vibe 2 5G packs a massive 6000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The company ships the charger inside the retail box itself, something that many smartphone brands have recently stopped offering. For users who spend long hours streaming content or playing games, the large battery may become one of the strongest selling points.

On the camera front, the phone includes a 50 megapixel AI powered rear camera supported by LED flash. For selfies and video calls, users get an 8 megapixel front camera. The smartphone also carries an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and water splashes, which adds extra durability for everyday use.

The HMD Vibe 2 5G supports dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 16. Connectivity features include Wi Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB Type C port. The device also includes a side mounted fingerprint scanner along with sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.

Although the introductory sale price was set at Rs 9499, the regular pricing is slightly higher. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model is priced at Rs 10999, while the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage version costs Rs 11999. Buyers can choose from Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue and Peach Pink colour variants.

Industry watchers believe the strong opening sale indicates growing consumer demand for affordable 5G smartphones that offer balanced performance without stretching the budget too much. With the first batch already sold out rapidly, HMD may soon increase stock availability to meet rising demand in the coming weeks.
