Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has strongly demanded that the Central government confer the Bharat Ratna on legendary leader and actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. The demand was raised during the Telugu Desam Party Mahanadu event, where party leaders passed a unanimous resolution seeking the country’s highest civilian honour for NTR.
Addressing party workers and leaders at the gathering, Chandrababu said NTR was not just a political leader but a symbol of Telugu self respect whose influence continues to inspire generations. He stated that as long as the Telugu community exists, NTR’s name will remain deeply rooted in people’s hearts.
The Chief Minister recalled that NTR dedicated his life to public service and transformed regional politics with his leadership. He said creating a political wave and coming to power within just nine months of launching a party was a rare achievement in world political history.
Chandrababu also highlighted NTR’s contribution towards women empowerment. Referring to TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh’s recent announcement of providing 33 percent political representation for women, he said the decision reflects NTR’s vision and commitment towards giving women a stronger role in society and politics.
Praising NTR’s contribution to cinema, Chandrababu said the iconic mythological and historical roles played by him on the silver screen are impossible to recreate. He described NTR as a once in a generation personality who brought immense recognition to Telugu culture across the world.
He further said NTR’s ideology that society is a temple and people are gods continues to guide the party even today. Chandrababu urged party cadres to preserve NTR’s ideals and carry them forward for future generations.
The TDP leadership maintained that crores of Telugu people have long been demanding Bharat Ratna for NTR in recognition of his remarkable services to both the state and the nation.
