Air quality in Delhi continued to remain in the poor category on Friday with the twenty four hour average Air Quality Index recorded at 220 raising concerns for residents sensitive to pollution exposure.
While pollution levels stayed elevated daytime temperatures showed a warmer trend. Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 24.8 degrees Celsius which stood above the seasonal average. Similar conditions were observed in several parts of the city reflecting stable but warm weather.
Other monitoring stations also reported variations across locations. The Ridge logged a maximum of 25.1 degrees Celsius while Ayanagar recorded 24.9 degrees Celsius. Lodhi Road saw temperatures climb higher than normal whereas Palam remained slightly cooler compared to other areas.
Despite warmer days nights continued to be relatively cool. The minimum temperature settled at 9.1 degrees Celsius marginally below normal according to the India Meteorological Department. Weather officials indicated no major change in conditions in the immediate term.
Health experts have advised residents especially children elderly and those with respiratory issues to limit prolonged outdoor activity as pollution levels remain a concern even as weather conditions stay largely calm.
