Finland President Alexander Stubb arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday as part of his four day official visit to India. The visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh welcomed the Finland President at the airport. Stubb was accompanied by a high level delegation including ministers senior officials and business leaders.

During the visit Finland President Alexander Stubb will hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The leaders are expected to explore opportunities to expand cooperation in trade investment innovation and emerging technologies.

Both countries are also expected to sign several memorandums of understanding to deepen collaboration in key sectors. Officials believe the agreements will help boost economic partnerships and technology exchange between India and Finland.

Apart from the meeting with the Prime Minister Stubb is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar during his stay in the capital.

The Finland President will also attend the opening session of the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi where he will participate as a chief guest. The global conference brings together leaders diplomats and experts to discuss international policy issues.

Later in the visit Finland President Alexander Stubb will travel to Mumbai where he is expected to interact with Indian business leaders to encourage stronger commercial partnerships between the two countries.

The visit comes shortly after Finland Prime Minister Petteri Orpo visited India for the AI Impact Summit reflecting the growing engagement between India and Finland in technology and economic cooperation.
