Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday for a two day official visit that is expected to add new energy to India Malaysia relations. He was warmly received at the airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim marking the start of a closely watched diplomatic engagement.
Soon after his arrival Modi received an enthusiastic welcome from members of the Indian diaspora reflecting the strong emotional and cultural bond between the two nations. The two leaders later travelled together to the official hotel underscoring the cordial tone of the visit.
Ahead of the trip Modi said the discussions would focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding collaboration in new growth driven areas.
