Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Hyderabad on May 10 for a series of official engagements and a major public meeting organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party. This will be Modi’s first visit to Telangana after becoming Prime Minister for the third consecutive term, and the BJP has begun extensive preparations to make the event a grand success.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects linked to industrial growth, healthcare and infrastructure. One of the key projects includes the foundation stone ceremony for the Integrated Industrial Smart City at Zaheerabad. He is also expected to formally launch projects connected to the PM MITRA Mega Textile Park in Warangal along with other central government initiatives.
The BJP leadership in Telangana is treating the visit as politically significant and is aiming for a massive public turnout at the Parade Grounds meeting in Secunderabad. Party leaders said people from nearly 50 Assembly constituencies are expected to attend the gathering, with a target of mobilising around two lakh supporters.
To handle the large crowd, the BJP has arranged four special trains from Kagaznagar, Khammam, Mahabubnagar and Peddapalli. In addition to these trains, around 3000 RTC buses have reportedly been booked for transportation of party workers and supporters. Private educational institution buses are also being arranged to support the mobilisation effort.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP Telangana president Ramchander Rao held meetings with party leaders to review arrangements related to crowd management, transportation and security for the Prime Minister’s visit.
According to the tentative schedule, Modi will depart from Bengaluru in a special aircraft at 1.10 pm and arrive at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad at around 2.20 pm. Between 2.30 pm and 3 pm, he will participate in inauguration and foundation stone laying programmes. Though the official events were initially planned at HICC, authorities later decided to conduct them at Begumpet Airport premises due to technical reasons.
After the official programmes, the Prime Minister is expected to leave by helicopter at around 3.15 pm for Hitec City, where he will inaugurate Sindhu Hospital and interact with medical professionals. He is scheduled to return to Begumpet Airport by 4.40 pm.
Later in the evening, Modi will travel by road from Begumpet to Parade Grounds at around 5.25 pm and participate in the BJP public meeting from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. After the event, he will return to Begumpet Airport and depart for Jamnagar in Gujarat in a special aircraft at approximately 6.45 pm.
Security arrangements across Hyderabad are being intensified ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, especially around Begumpet Airport, Hitec City and Parade Grounds where large crowds are expected
