Customs officials at Shamshabad Airport made a significant seizure after intercepting a large consignment of drones brought from Singapore. Authorities confiscated seventy drones that were allegedly being transported without proper declaration by three passengers who arrived in Hyderabad on separate flights.

According to officials the drones were brought into the country through two different international flights arriving from Singapore. Customs officers conducting routine checks discovered the devices during inspection and immediately seized them for further investigation.

Initial estimates suggest that the value of the seized drones could be around fifty lakh rupees. The three passengers involved have been taken into custody and are currently being questioned by officials to determine the purpose behind bringing such a large number of drones into the country.

Investigators are examining whether the drones were intended for commercial resale or if there were other reasons behind the attempt to transport them without proper authorization. Authorities are also checking whether the passengers were acting independently or as part of a larger network.

Customs officials said the unusual quantity of drones raised suspicion during screening procedures. The devices were confiscated and detailed verification is now underway to understand possible violations of import regulations.

Meanwhile another development at Shamshabad Airport affected international travel. Several flights scheduled to operate to West Asian destinations were cancelled after airspace restrictions were imposed in the region.

Airport authorities confirmed that a total of thirteen international flights were cancelled due to the temporary closure of airspace in certain West Asian countries. The cancellations disrupted travel plans for passengers scheduled to fly to those destinations.

Officials stated that airlines and airport authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will resume normal operations once the airspace restrictions are lifted.

The drone seizure and the flight cancellations on the same day created heightened activity at Shamshabad Airport as authorities handled both security investigations and operational challenges. Further updates are expected after customs officials complete their inquiry into the seized drones.
