UTS App to Shut Down from March One as Indian Railways Launches Rail One Platform

Indian Railways will discontinue the UTS app from March one and shift all ticket booking services to the new Rail One app offering a single platform for passengers.

  • UTS app will stop working from March one.
  • Rail One app will handle all ticket bookings.
  • Digital payments will get fare discounts.

Indian Railways is set to make a major digital transition for passengers by discontinuing the UTS app from March one. The app, widely used for unreserved and platform ticket bookings, will stop functioning as the railways move toward a unified digital ticketing system.

To replace UTS, the Rail One app has been introduced as a single destination for all railway ticketing needs. Passengers will be able to book unreserved tickets, reserved tickets, suburban travel passes and platform tickets using one application, reducing the need for multiple apps and simplifying travel planning.

Railway officials said the move aims to improve convenience and efficiency for millions of daily commuters. The new app also offers easy access without fresh registration. Existing users can log in using their UTS or IRCTC credentials, while mobile number based login is also available for quick access.

Rail One goes beyond ticket booking and includes several passenger friendly services. Travelers can track trains in real time, order food directly to their seats through e catering, and use the Rail Madad feature to report issues during journeys. The app also provides information on sleeper class berth availability, making travel planning smoother.

To encourage digital payments, Indian Railways has announced a special incentive. Passengers booking tickets through the Rail One app and paying via UPI debit card or credit card will receive a three percent discount on ticket fares. Officials believe this shift will improve digital adoption while offering cost savings to regular travelers.
