Gates Foundation founder and chair Bill Gates arrived at Gannavaram Airport on Monday, where he was accorded a warm reception by state ministers, senior officials, and district administrators. Ministers Nara Lokesh, Anitha, Atchannaidu, and Satyakumar were present to welcome him before the delegation proceeded to the Secretariat.
Earlier, Bill Gates’ special aircraft faced a brief delay in landing due to foggy weather conditions around the airport. With landing clearance temporarily withheld, the aircraft circled the area for a short time before weather conditions improved, allowing a safe touchdown. Following the landing, the Gates Foundation team moved directly to official engagements.
At the Secretariat, Bill Gates is scheduled to meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh. The discussions are expected to focus on Andhra Pradesh’s Real Time Governance Systems and their impact on public administration.
State officials will also outline ongoing and proposed collaborations with the Gates Foundation, particularly in education, healthcare, agriculture, and digital governance. The visit is seen as an important step toward strengthening partnerships aimed at improving service delivery and development outcomes across Andhra Pradesh.
