Chandrababu to Visit Nellore for Fishermen Welfare Meeting

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to visit Nellore district today to participate in a major welfare programme for fishermen families. The event titled Matsyakarula Sevalo will be held at the coastal region of Kasapadu in Kavali constituency.

The state government has taken the programme seriously as it aims to support fishing families who lose their livelihoods during the annual marine fishing ban season. District officials and local Telugu Desam Party leaders completed large scale arrangements ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit.

During the programme, Chandrababu Naidu will release financial assistance for eligible fishermen families across the state under the fishing ban relief scheme. Officials said around one lakh thirty thousand seven hundred ninety six beneficiary families will receive support through direct benefit transfer.

Under the scheme, each eligible family will receive twenty thousand rupees directly into their bank accounts. The government will transfer a total amount of two hundred sixty two crore rupees in a single click as part of the welfare initiative.

According to officials, the assistance is intended to help fishermen manage financial difficulties during the period when fishing activities are restricted in the sea. The government believes the direct transfer system will provide immediate relief and support household expenses during the non fishing season.

After releasing the funds, the Chief Minister is expected to interact directly with local fishermen families and discuss their concerns. Issues related to fishing harbour modernization, cold storage facilities, and infrastructure development are likely to be reviewed during the interaction.

Following the public meeting, Chandrababu Naidu will also hold a separate review meeting with district ministers, MLAs, and senior Telugu Desam Party leaders. Discussions are expected to focus on development activities in Nellore district, party strengthening, and strategies for upcoming local elections.
