- Political debate intensifies over government land.
A fresh political controversy erupted in Andhra Pradesh after YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy made strong allegations over the use of valuable government land in Visakhapatnam. His remarks have quickly drawn attention across the state and reignited debate on transparency in governance.
In a post shared on social media Jagan claimed that prime government land near the Rushikonda area was allegedly diverted for the benefit of the family of N. Chandrababu Naidu. He stated that nearly fifty five acres of land with an estimated value of around five thousand crore rupees was handed over through misuse of official authority.
According to Jagan the land was earlier secured during the previous YSRCP administration and protected with fencing. He alleged that after the change in government the same land was again reassigned to members of the ruling family without proper justification.
The YSRCP leader further claimed that decisions were influenced by Nara Lokesh despite him having no direct administrative role in the matter. He alleged that official communications were issued to facilitate the transfer of land to close relatives of the ruling family.
Jagan also accused the government of suppressing dissent when party representatives attempted to raise objections. He alleged that elected corporators who questioned the move were forcefully removed while authorities failed to act decisively.
Calling it a pattern rather than an isolated incident Jagan said public assets tend to disappear whenever Chandrababu Naidu holds power while private family wealth continues to grow. He described the situation as a serious threat to democratic values and urged citizens to remain alert.
The allegations have added fuel to the ongoing political confrontation in Andhra Pradesh with both sides expected to trade sharp responses in the coming days.
