A heated discussion unfolded in the Assembly over Aarogyasri dues as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressed concerns and clarified the government’s position on pending payments. He stated that the dues were not created by the current administration but were inherited from the previous government.

According to the Chief Minister, the earlier regime had left behind pending Aarogyasri bills amounting to 627 crore. Of this, a significant portion was owed to both government and private hospitals. He emphasized that his government took responsibility for these liabilities and has been actively clearing them.

Revanth Reddy highlighted that since assuming office, the government has already released over 2408 crore towards Aarogyasri payments. He explained that a major share has gone to private hospitals while a substantial amount was also directed to government institutions. He added that only a limited portion of dues now remains and payments are being made continuously.

Dismissing allegations and misinformation, the Chief Minister said that healthcare remains a top priority for the government. He reiterated that both education and healthcare are being treated as fundamental pillars, and there will be no compromise in funding these sectors.

The discussion also brought attention to broader reforms in the healthcare system. The government is planning to strengthen medical infrastructure, including better management of teaching hospitals and expansion of facilities. A major announcement included the construction of a new Osmania Hospital with a large capacity to improve patient care.

Revanth Reddy also spoke about transparency measures introduced in welfare schemes. He noted that reforms in the Chief Minister Relief Fund have ensured accountability and eliminated irregularities through an online system. Significant funds have already been disbursed to support medical needs of the poor.

In addition, the government is working on initiatives to involve NRI doctors through a dedicated platform, enabling them to contribute to healthcare services when they visit the state. The Chief Minister concluded by reaffirming that the government is committed to improving healthcare access and ensuring financial protection for families through upcoming insurance schemes.
