Duddilla Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is on track to transform into a leading global city over the next ten years, driven by large scale infrastructure development, international investments and the rapid expansion of Global Capability Centres.
Speaking at the NASSCOM GCC Summit 2026 in Mumbai, the Telangana minister stated that the government is working under the Telangana Rising Vision 2047 initiative to strengthen the state’s contribution to India’s economy.
According to Sridhar Babu, more than 70 GCCs were established in Hyderabad during the previous year, the highest among Indian cities. He said the government is now aiming to attract another 100 GCCs this year, a move expected to create nearly one lakh jobs across different sectors.
The minister explained that Hyderabad is increasingly becoming a preferred destination for companies in technology, banking, semiconductors, defence, hospitality, life sciences, FMCG and space technology. He added that the state wants GCCs to evolve beyond support operations and emerge as global value creation centres.
Highlighting future infrastructure plans, Sridhar Babu said Telangana is focusing on long term urban planning to avoid the problems faced by many overcrowded global cities. He noted that the government has already launched several major development projects to support sustainable growth.
These projects include Bharat Future City, AI City, Metro Rail expansion, the Regional Ring Road, new airports, Musi river rejuvenation, Young India Skills University and the AIKAM Innovation Hub. Officials believe these initiatives will strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a future ready city.
The minister also invited international companies to invest in Telangana, pointing to Hyderabad’s strong talent pool and skilled workforce. He urged industries to support the growth of the Made in Telangana brand at the global level.
Several industry leaders attended the summit, including Rajesh Nambiar and NASSCOM Chairman Srikant, as discussions focused on technology growth, innovation and India’s expanding digital economy.
