A powerful blast inside the kitchen of a popular Chutneys restaurant caused panic among diners and left several staff members injured in Hyderabad on Thursday. The incident occurred at the LB Nagar outlet when an idli steamer suddenly exploded during routine cooking hours.
Customers dining inside the restaurant were startled by the loud sound and rushed out in fear. The kitchen staff bore the brunt of the accident as boiling steam and metal fragments caused serious injuries to those working nearby.
Three employees were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors confirmed that one staff member suffered a head injury while two others sustained severe leg injuries. Hospital authorities said all the injured are currently in stable condition and under observation.
LB Nagar police reached the spot soon after receiving the alert and initiated an investigation.
