KCR SIT Probe Ends After Hours, BRS Calls It Political Pressure

The Special Investigation Team questioning of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao concluded after nearly five hours, drawing sharp political reactions and renewed debate across the state. Officials arrived at his Nandinagar residence in the afternoon and wrapped up the session close to evening, maintaining tight security throughout the process.
During the inquiry, authorities implemented multi layer security arrangements with senior police officers deployed in and around the residence. The entire questioning was officially recorded, and the interaction reportedly took place in a designated room inside the house. Soon after the SIT team left, party leaders and supporters gathered outside, prompting KCR to briefly appear and acknowledge them.
Following the inquiry, KCR held internal discussions with senior leaders and legal advisors before meeting party legislators. The focus later shifted to organisational matters, including upcoming municipal elections and strengthening the party at the grassroots level. He later departed for his farmhouse, indicating a return to routine political planning.
Reacting strongly, BRS working president KTR accused the Congress government of using the SIT probe as a tool for political harassment. He said KCR had always respected the law and cooperated with the investigation despite what he described as deliberate attempts to create distractions from governance failures, particularly issues related to the Union Budget.
KTR asserted that the SIT inquiry was being used to mislead the public and generate confusion through speculation. According to him, KCR has never been intimidated by political pressure and would continue to stand firm. He added that public attention was being deliberately diverted from economic and administrative shortcomings by keeping the former chief minister in the spotlight.
Meanwhile, tension prevailed near Telangana Bhavan during the questioning period, with brief confrontations between party workers and police. The situation remained under control as security forces intervened, even as protests continued intermittently until the inquiry concluded.
