Anti Corruption Bureau officials carried out a successful operation and arrested a woman Sub Inspector along with a police staff member in connection with an alleged bribery case. The action followed a complaint from an individual who approached authorities after reportedly being asked to pay money for official relief in a case matter.
According to officials, the issue was linked to a person who had been directed to appear at a police station every week as part of legal procedures related to an ongoing case. Since the individual planned to relocate to another area, he reportedly sought an exemption from regular attendance requirements.
During discussions regarding the request, an alleged demand for money was made in exchange for facilitating the exemption process. The complainant later approached Anti Corruption Bureau officials and informed them about the matter.
Authorities then organized a planned operation and closely monitored the process. Investigators stated that the complainant arrived with the amount as instructed and followed the directions given during the interaction.
Officials said the cash was allegedly placed inside a scooter storage compartment as part of the arrangement. ACB teams who had been monitoring the operation stepped in immediately and took action after gathering evidence related to the transaction.
The arrested individuals were later taken into custody and the money involved in the case was seized by officials. Investigations are continuing to examine further details connected to the incident.
