The fire accident at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Nampally has been officially attributed to a short circuit according to Fire Director General Vikram Singh. After personally inspecting the site the senior official briefed the media and ruled out other causes.
He stated that electronic equipment including computers printers and hard disks inside the laboratory were destroyed in the blaze. Quick action by alert staff ensured that everyone evacuated in time preventing any loss of life.
With summer approaching Fire DG Vikram Singh said authorities are on high alert as the risk of fire incidents increases during this period. Fire safety teams have begun inspections across residential commercial and government buildings to reduce hazards and ensure compliance.
The fire broke out on Saturday at the Telangana FSL office in Nampally triggering panic for a brief period. While no injuries were reported there are concerns as the building reportedly housed sensitive forensic material related to ongoing investigations.
