The Telangana government has taken an important step in response to rising temperatures and increasing heatwave conditions across the state. Authorities have announced financial assistance for families who lost their loved ones due to severe heat related incidents.

Following directions from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy instructed officials to provide compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the families of people who died due to sunstroke related causes. The decision comes as the state continues to witness extremely high temperatures.

During a review meeting held at the Secretariat with senior officials, the minister discussed the current heat situation and examined reports related to heatwave impact across Telangana. According to official information, sixteen deaths linked to sunstroke have been recorded in the state so far.

The government also focused on delays in the compensation process that affected families in previous cases. Officials informed the minister that delays in obtaining required documents such as postmortem reports and police records often slowed the release of financial assistance.

To address the issue, strict instructions were issued to ensure that all related reports and documents are prepared and submitted within twenty four hours in future cases. Authorities were directed to improve coordination and speed up field level verification so that affected families receive support without unnecessary delays.

The government stated that every eligible family should receive timely assistance and that administrative systems must work efficiently during emergency situations.
