A strong heatwave has tightened its grip over Telangana, with temperatures rising sharply across several districts and creating harsh living conditions for residents. The intensity of heat usually seen in peak summer months has already arrived, leaving people concerned about the coming weeks.
Weather data indicates that multiple regions have recorded temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius, with the highest touching 43.5 degrees in parts of Nalgonda district. Other areas including Jagtial Nirmal Nizamabad Adilabad and Karimnagar have also reported similarly high temperatures, reflecting a widespread rise across the state.
The impact of the heat is being felt from early morning, with temperatures climbing rapidly by mid morning and becoming extreme by afternoon. Streets are largely deserted during peak hours as people avoid stepping out unless necessary. Many households are depending heavily on cooling appliances to cope with the conditions.
Meteorological officials have warned that the heatwave is likely to intensify further over the next few days. Forecasts suggest that temperatures could rise beyond 45 degrees Celsius in some areas, increasing the risk of heat related illnesses.
In response to the situation, state minister Seethakka has issued a public advisory urging people to remain cautious. She recommended avoiding outdoor activities between late morning and mid afternoon and completing essential work during cooler hours of the day.
Residents have also been advised to stay hydrated and protect themselves from direct sunlight by using caps or cloth coverings. Health concerns linked to heat exposure have already been reported, prompting authorities to stress the importance of preventive measures.
To ease the situation, the government has initiated arrangements for providing safe drinking water at key public locations. These efforts are aimed at supporting both local residents and those traveling during the extreme weather.
Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and have emphasized that following safety guidelines will be crucial in minimizing the impact of the ongoing heatwave across the state.
