The Telangana government has set April 6 as the deadline for journalists to apply for accreditation cards, with officials urging eligible applicants to complete the process without delay. Journalists are required to submit their applications both online and offline, ensuring all necessary documents are attached. These include recommendation letters from their respective organizations, relevant paper cuttings and educational qualification certificates.
Independent journalists must provide published work samples along with a letter from the concerned editor confirming their contributions. Authorities have emphasized that all supporting documents must be accurate and complete for the application to be considered.
Applicants must also submit a self declaration stating that they are not engaged in other professions such as government service, legal practice or holding positions like society chairman or sarpanch. The hard copy of the application must be submitted at the respective District Public Relations Office.
Officials clarified that accreditation cards will be issued only to those who meet the eligibility criteria set by the government. Strict action will be taken against applicants who provide false information during the process.
The state accreditation committee has already held multiple meetings to review guidelines and implementation procedures. Authorities stated that efforts are being made to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all eligible journalists.
Applications received so far are under review, and steps are being taken to issue accreditation cards to those who qualify under the prescribed norms.
