Telangana Municipal Election Results Heat Up as TDP Opens Account

Counting of votes in the Telangana municipal elections is unfolding with intense political interest across the state. Results from multiple municipalities are setting the tone for shifting local equations as major parties and smaller outfits make their presence felt ward by ward.
Out of a total of 2595 wards, 14 have been declared unanimous so far. Congress secured 12 of these unopposed seats, while BRS claimed the remaining 2. Police have enforced strict security arrangements at counting centres to ensure the process remains peaceful and free from untoward incidents.
Congress recorded a major win in Nandikonda municipality of Nalgonda district, where it swept 11 out of 12 wards. The party also secured control of Madhira and Ashwaraopeta municipalities, strengthening its position in key regions.
The Telugu Desam Party opened its account in Telangana municipal elections with a notable victory in the tenth ward of Madhira municipality in Khammam district. TDP candidate Bodepudi Revathi defeated BRS nominee Pedapudi Sudhakar, marking an important milestone for the party in the state. Meanwhile, CPI registered its first win in Mancherial district by securing the nineteenth ward in Kyathapalli municipality, where its candidate Mittapalli Saritha Srinivas won by a margin of 456 votes.
In Devarakadra municipality of Mahabubnagar district, the ruling Congress emerged ahead with 7 wards, followed by BRS with 4 and BJP with 1. As counting continues, authorities remain alert. DGP Shivadhaar Reddy issued a stern warning, stating that any attacks on election staff or police personnel would invite strict action.
The evolving results indicate a closely watched contest, with parties closely tracking ward level trends that could shape future political strategies in Telangana.
