Telangana Municipal Elections May Bring Three Day School Holiday Break
Students in Telangana towns may get extended holidays during municipal elections as polling counting weekend breaks align though officials are yet to issue formal orders on school closures.

- Telangana schools may close during municipal elections.
- Polling and counting days could bring holidays.
- Official orders on school holidays awaited.
A possible spell of consecutive holidays is drawing attention among students and parents in Telangana as municipal elections approach. With polling scheduled on February eleven schools in election bound towns are likely to remain closed that day.
Officials indicated that government and private schools in urban areas may be declared holiday zones to facilitate smooth voting. Employees are also expected to be granted leave to exercise their franchise adding to the likelihood of school closures.
Counting of votes is scheduled for February thirteen and sources suggest schools may remain shut on that day as well. If holidays are announced for both polling and counting days students could enjoy an extended break.
The timing adds to the excitement since February fourteen falls on the second Saturday followed by the regular Sunday holiday on February fifteen. This alignment could result in multiple consecutive days off for students in election areas.
However education officials clarified that formal orders are awaited and clarity is expected soon. Until then schools have been asked to wait for official communication before making announcements.
Separately representatives of the Telangana Teachers Joint Action Committee met the Chief Secretary to raise pending teacher issues. The government assured that non financial matters would be forwarded to departments while financial concerns would be reviewed after budget discussions.
