The results of TG POLYCET for admissions into polytechnic diploma courses were announced on Saturday, bringing encouraging news for thousands of students across the state. The examination recorded an overall pass percentage of 82.94 percent, reflecting a strong performance by candidates this year.

Girls once again showed better results compared to boys in the examination. While 86.38 percent of girls qualified, the pass percentage among boys stood at 79.92 percent. The difference of 6.46 percent highlighted a notable lead by female candidates in this year’s results.

A total of 1,06,439 students had registered for the examination and 98,029 candidates appeared for the test. Out of them, 81,307 students successfully qualified. Officials also stated that candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories recorded a complete qualification rate as the required qualifying mark for these categories was one mark.

The results were released by Technical Education Department Commissioner Sridevasena at the Technical Education Board office in Masab Tank. Based on the obtained ranks, students will get admissions into engineering diploma courses as well as diploma programmes offered by agricultural, horticultural and veterinary universities.

This year also witnessed an unusual trend in the MPC stream where 11 students secured the same top score and were initially awarded State Rank One. Since all of them achieved identical marks, further ranking positions will be determined based on subject wise scores and date of birth criteria.

Meanwhile, officials also announced LP CET results for ITI students seeking admissions into polytechnic courses. The examination recorded a pass percentage of 57.28 percent. Out of 508 candidates who appeared, 291 qualified successfully. The first phase of diploma admissions counselling is scheduled to begin on May 27.
