A serious road accident in Adilabad district has left several passengers injured after a travel bus collided with a lorry. The incident occurred near Gudihatnur, raising concerns over road safety and reckless overtaking.

According to initial reports, the bus belonging to a private travels operator attempted to overtake a vehicle but ended up crashing into a lorry ahead. The impact was severe, causing extensive damage to the front portion of the bus, especially the driver’s cabin.

A total of 15 passengers sustained injuries in the accident. Local residents and police personnel quickly rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. The injured were safely pulled out of the damaged vehicle and shifted to RIMS Hospital in Adilabad for treatment.

Officials said the condition of some passengers required immediate medical attention, though no fatalities have been reported so far. Emergency response teams ensured that the situation was brought under control without further complications.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that the accident may have been caused due to a risky overtaking attempt, but authorities are examining all possible factors.

The accident has once again highlighted the importance of cautious driving, especially on highways where high speed overtaking can lead to dangerous consequences.
