New budget friendly 5G phones from Lava and Ai Plus offer stylish designs strong battery life and upgraded performance features targeting users seeking value packed smartphones under competitive pricing in India

A fresh wave of budget 5G smartphones is set to hit the market as new sales begin on May 1, offering buyers a mix of performance, style, and affordability. With brands focusing on higher RAM options and improved battery life, consumers now have more choices in the sub premium segment.

Among the highlights is the Lava Bold N1 5G, which is returning with a new 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Priced at 12999 rupees, the device will be available at a discounted price of 11999 rupees during the launch sale. It joins the existing lineup of lower priced variants, making it one of the more accessible 5G options in the market.

The device runs on Android 15 and features a large 6.75 inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate, aimed at delivering a smoother everyday experience. Powered by the Unisoc T765 processor, it supports expandable memory through virtual RAM, allowing users to extend usable RAM up to 12GB. Storage can also be expanded up to 1TB, making it suitable for users with higher data needs.

Camera performance on the Lava model is modest but practical, featuring a 13 megapixel primary sensor backed by AI enhancements. A 5 megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls. The phone also includes a 5000mAh battery, which is designed to last through a full day of regular usage, although charging speeds remain basic.

Alongside this launch, two devices from Ai Plus are also making a return to sale. The Ai Plus Nova 2 5G and Ai Plus Nova 2 Ultra 5G will be available again with promotional pricing, bringing their effective costs down to 9999 rupees and 16999 rupees respectively.

The Nova 2 Ultra 5G is positioned as the more premium option, offering a 6.78 inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset and includes up to 8GB RAM. On the camera front, it features a 50 megapixel Sony sensor with optical image stabilization along with an ultra wide lens, making it suitable for users who prioritize photography.

In contrast, the standard Nova 2 5G model targets budget buyers with a simpler setup. It offers a 120Hz display and runs on the Unisoc T8200 processor, paired with up to 6GB RAM. While it lacks the advanced camera system of the Ultra version, it still includes a 50 megapixel primary sensor that covers basic photography needs.

Battery life is a strong point for both Ai Plus devices, as they come equipped with large 6000mAh batteries. The Ultra variant supports faster 33W charging, while the standard model supports 18W charging. Both phones also carry IP64 ratings, adding a layer of protection against dust and splashes.

Design and color options are also being emphasized, with multiple finishes available across models to appeal to younger buyers. Features like face unlock and fingerprint sensors are standard, ensuring convenience alongside security.

With competitive pricing and upgraded specifications such as higher RAM support and large batteries, these new launches reflect the growing demand for feature rich yet affordable 5G smartphones. As sales begin, buyers looking to upgrade without stretching their budget are likely to find these devices appealing options in the current market.
