Amazfit Launches Rugged Active 3 Premium Smartwatch with Advanced GPS and 12 Day Battery Life
Designed for runners and outdoor enthusiasts, the compact smartwatch offers six satellite positioning systems, adaptive training plans, 170 plus sports modes and long lasting battery performance in a durable build.

Fitness focused consumers looking for a tough yet stylish smartwatch have a new option on the table. Chinese wearable brand Amazfit has introduced the Amazfit Active 3 Premium in global markets, targeting runners, gym goers and outdoor adventurers who demand precision tracking without sacrificing everyday comfort.
At the heart of the device is a powerful positioning system that supports six satellite networks. The watch enables offline maps, turn by turn navigation, automatic rerouting and point to point route planning. Users can search locations directly from the wrist, making it particularly useful for trail runs and unfamiliar routes. With 4GB of internal storage, maps and audio files can be saved for phone free workouts.
Battery life is one of its strongest selling points. The smartwatch houses a 365mAh battery that promises up to 12 days of usage under typical conditions. Even with heavier use, the device can last up to seven days on a single charge. Users who prefer the always on display can expect around four days of power, while continuous GPS usage delivers up to 24 hours. A dedicated GPS saving mode stretches performance to as much as 76 hours, and GPS with music playback runs for about 10 hours.
The design balances durability with comfort. Built with a 45mm stainless steel frame and protected by sapphire glass, the watch weighs just 38 grams without the strap. It features a 1.32 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 by 466 pixels and peak brightness reaching 3000 nits, ensuring visibility even under harsh sunlight. With a 5ATM water resistance rating, it is suitable for swimming and intense outdoor sessions. The model is available in Apex Silver, Atlas Blue and Aero White color options.
For serious runners, the watch integrates structured workout programs and Zepp Coach adaptive training plans that adjust based on performance and recovery. These plans support goals ranging from 5K races to full marathons. Detailed metrics such as running power, posture tracking, ground contact time, rhythm analysis, balance monitoring and lactate threshold insights aim to help athletes refine form and reduce injury risk over time. Features like virtual pacer, smart trajectory correction and track run mode further enhance training precision.
Health monitoring is handled by the BioTracker PPG sensor, which continuously tracks heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress and skin temperature. Sleep analysis includes breathing quality, sleep stages, heart rate variation, nap detection and a daily sleep score. The BioCharge feature offers a readiness score based on activity and recovery data, while advanced indicators such as VO2 Max, training load and training stress balance provide deeper performance insights. A one tap measurement option delivers key health metrics within 45 seconds.
Beyond fitness, the smartwatch doubles as a daily companion. It supports Bluetooth calling through a built in microphone and speaker, voice assistance via Zepp Flow, notification alerts, music control and camera control for iOS devices. Android users can access quick reply functionality. The watch pairs with the Zepp app and supports devices running Android 7.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later. Workout data can sync with platforms including Strava, TrainingPeaks, Apple Health and Google Fit.
With support for more than 170 sports modes, including strength training with automatic movement recognition, cycling, swimming, winter sports and indoor workouts, the device aims to serve both casual users and performance driven athletes.
The Amazfit Active 3 Premium is priced at 169.99 dollars and became available starting February 26 through Amazfit’s official channels and Amazon, positioning it as a competitive choice in the mid range smartwatch segment.
