Google has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Google Pixel 10a, positioning it as a premium mid range contender packed with long term software support and upgraded hardware. Priced at 49999, the device will go on sale starting March 6, with pre orders opening through Flipkart and the official Google India online store.
The new Pixel arrives in a single configuration offering 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. As part of the introductory offers, customers using select HDFC Bank cards can avail an instant cashback of 3000 along with no cost EMI options for up to 24 months and an exchange bonus of 3000. The smartphone is also included in the Google Pixel upgrade program, aimed at encouraging long term brand loyalty.
Powering the device is Google’s in house Tensor G4 chipset, paired with the Titan M2 security coprocessor. The handset runs on Android 16 and the company has promised seven years of operating system upgrades and security updates, underlining its focus on durability and user trust. This extended support could appeal strongly to buyers who prefer keeping their devices for several years.
In terms of display, the Pixel 10a features a 6.3 inch Actua pOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 by 2424 pixels. The screen supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and delivers peak brightness of 3000 nits. Protection is handled by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while the aluminum frame and IP68 rating add to its durability against dust and water exposure.
Photography remains a key highlight. The smartphone houses a dual rear camera setup led by a 48 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization and an f 1.7 aperture. Accompanying it is a 13 megapixel ultra wide lens offering a 120 degree field of view. On the front, users get a 13 megapixel camera designed for selfies and video calls. Google continues to rely on computational photography enhancements to deliver sharp images across lighting conditions.
Battery life is another major talking point. The Pixel 10a packs a 5100mAh battery with support for 30W wired charging and 10W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G 4G LTE WiFi 6E Bluetooth 6 NFC and a USB Type C port. Navigation systems such as GPS GLONASS Galileo BeiDou and QZSS are also supported. The device includes a range of onboard sensors along with a fingerprint scanner for security.
Weighing 183 grams and measuring 9mm in thickness, the Pixel 10a will be available in Berry Fog Lavender and Obsidian color options. With a balanced mix of hardware power long term software commitment and aggressive launch offers, Google appears to be aiming squarely at users seeking reliability and performance without stepping into ultra premium pricing territory.
