Government Launches AI Skilling Program Offering Free Training and 15,000 Scholarships for Young Creators
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting partners with Google and YouTube to provide free AI training scholarships to students and creative professionals for content creation skills enhancement

Aspiring creators and young professionals in India now have an opportunity to learn artificial intelligence from the comfort of their homes. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has partnered with the Indian Institute of Creative Technology, along with Google and YouTube, to launch a national AI skilling initiative. The program is designed to equip students and emerging creators with the latest AI tools for digital content production.
A key highlight of the initiative is the availability of 15,000 scholarships. These scholarships aim to remove financial barriers, enabling participants to access high-quality training without worrying about costs. The program primarily focuses on areas such as animation, gaming, digital storytelling, and content production, ensuring participants are prepared for the evolving demands of the creative industry.
The AI Skilling Program is structured into two stages: a foundational course and a specialization track. The foundation course is entirely online and spans over 33 hours, covering AI basics, while the specialization course is offered in a hybrid format. Participants can progress at their own pace, and certificates are awarded upon completion of each course, helping learners validate their skills for professional opportunities.
Google and YouTube’s collaboration brings industry-level expertise to the program. Participants can expect practical training, tools, and guidance to enhance content creation. YouTube’s involvement also emphasizes improving video quality and engagement using AI-powered tools, enabling creators to produce more effective and professional content.
The program’s enrollment process is simple. Interested candidates can visit the IICT official website at iict.org, locate the AI Skills House registration link, fill out the required fields in the Phase I application form, and submit it to secure their participation. Once registered, learners can start the foundation course immediately and progress to advanced creative projects once they complete the basics.
This initiative reflects the government’s effort to prepare India’s workforce for the rapidly evolving AI-driven digital landscape. By providing structured training, scholarships, and industry collaboration, it aims to empower young Indians to build meaningful careers in digital and creative sectors while strengthening India’s position in the global AI ecosystem.
