Lava is preparing to launch its new budget 5G smartphone Bold 2 5G in India on March 13, featuring a slim 7.55mm body, dual rear cameras, and an in display fingerprint scanner.

Indian smartphone maker Lava is ready to introduce its next affordable 5G device in the country. The company has confirmed that the Lava Bold 2 5G will officially launch in India on March 13 at 12 noon, targeting buyers who want modern smartphone features without stretching their budget.
Ahead of the launch, Lava has been gradually revealing design details through teaser posters and promotional material. The latest teaser highlights one of the phone’s most striking features its extremely slim profile. The upcoming smartphone will measure just 7.55mm in thickness, making it one of the slimmest devices in its segment.
A fresh poster also reveals the rear design of the device. The Lava Bold 2 5G will feature a horizontally aligned dual rear camera module. The camera bar appears in black and is placed on the upper portion of the back panel, accompanied by an LED flash. The company has confirmed that the phone will include a 50 megapixel main camera, although the details of the secondary sensor are still unknown.
Lava has also showcased the phone in two color options, black and white. While the full specifications have not yet been revealed, the design teasers suggest that the phone will carry a clean and modern look with minimalistic styling.
On the front, the device is expected to feature a punch hole display cutout positioned at the center, housing the selfie camera. Promotional material also indicates the presence of an in display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The screen appears to have thin bezels around most sides, although the bottom chin looks slightly thicker.
The smartphone’s official microsite is already live on Amazon, confirming that the device will be sold through the e commerce platform after launch. However, key technical details such as the chipset, display size, battery capacity, and full camera configuration have not yet been disclosed by the company.
The Lava Bold 2 5G will arrive as the successor to the Lava Bold 5G, which was introduced in India in April 2025 at a starting price of Rs 10499 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The earlier model featured a 6.67 inch 3D curved AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, offering smooth visuals for everyday use.
The previous generation device was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and offered up to 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage. It also included a 64 megapixel AI powered primary rear camera using a Sony sensor, while the front housed a 16 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Battery life was another strong point of the earlier model. The Lava Bold 5G packed a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W wired fast charging. It also carried an IP64 rating, offering resistance against dust and minor splashes.
With the Bold 2 5G, Lava appears to be focusing on delivering a stylish yet affordable 5G smartphone with a slimmer body and upgraded camera experience. More details about the device’s hardware and pricing are expected to be revealed during the official launch event.
