LG Warns Smart TV Users Against Using Mosquito Bats Near Screens

Smart TV owners are being advised to stay cautious while using mosquito killing rackets inside their homes. Electronics giant LG has issued a warning stating that using high voltage mosquito bats or bug zappers near televisions can seriously damage internal components of LED and OLED TVs. What may appear to be a harmless habit while watching television could eventually lead to expensive repair bills or even complete device failure.

Many people often use electric mosquito rackets around the TV screen to kill insects flying nearby. However, according to LG, the high voltage spark produced by these devices creates electromagnetic pulses that can interfere with sensitive electronic circuits inside modern Smart TVs. The biggest risk is reportedly linked to the display panel and motherboard. Proper ventilation is another important factor in extending the life of Smart TVs. Electronic devices generate heat during operation, and poor airflow can increase the chances of overheating. Users are advised to place televisions in well ventilated areas and avoid covering ventilation openings.
