Nothing Unveils Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro With New Glyph Interface and Competitive Pricing

Nothing launches its first major smartphones of 2026 in India featuring upgraded design, new Glyph lighting system, Snapdragon processor, 50MP cameras and large battery aimed at the competitive mid range market

Technology company Nothing has officially introduced its latest mid range smartphones in India, the Nothing Phone 4a and Nothing Phone 4a Pro. The launch marks the brand’s first major product announcement of 2026, as it continues to expand its smartphone portfolio with improved design, performance upgrades and a refreshed version of its signature lighting interface.

Both smartphones arrive with a focus on visual identity and user experience. Nothing has once again placed its distinctive Glyph lighting system at the center of the design. The Phone 4a features a newly designed Glyph Bar that includes 63 mini LED lights capable of displaying different notification patterns. The Pro version takes the concept further with a more advanced Glyph Matrix system that allows deeper customization and more expressive lighting interactions.

Pricing has been positioned aggressively in the Indian market. The Nothing Phone 4a starts at Rs 31999 for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 8GB and 256GB model is priced at Rs 34999, while the top variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is available for Rs 37999. The Nothing Phone 4a Pro begins at Rs 39999, with the 8GB and 256GB version priced at Rs 42999 and the 12GB and 256GB configuration reaching Rs 45999.

Sales for the devices will begin soon through online channels. According to the company, the Phone 4a is expected to go on sale from March 13, while the more advanced Phone 4a Pro could become available starting March 27. Buyers will be able to purchase the smartphones through Flipkart and the official Nothing website.

In terms of design, the standard Phone 4a keeps the brand’s recognizable transparent rear panel, giving users a look at the internal layout that has become a defining element of Nothing’s aesthetic. The Pro model adopts a more premium construction, featuring a refined finish and a metal frame that aims to offer a more solid feel in hand.

Display and performance have also received upgrades in the new series. Both phones feature large AMOLED displays paired with a high refresh rate, which is expected to deliver smoother scrolling and a better gaming experience. Powering the devices is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chipset, designed to offer strong performance in the mid range category while maintaining efficient power usage.

The smartphones are equipped with modern connectivity and storage technologies as well. Features include UFS 3.1 storage, support for 5G networks and an in display fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking. Nothing has also highlighted software optimization as an important focus, aiming to ensure smooth day to day performance.

Photography remains another key area of improvement in the new models. The phones include a multi camera setup led by a 50 megapixel main camera. Reports suggest the presence of additional lenses including a telephoto camera with improved zoom capabilities, allowing users to capture more detailed shots and flexible framing options.

Battery capacity has also been increased to support longer usage. The smartphones are powered by a 5400mAh battery that supports 50W fast charging. According to the company, the battery is designed to provide reliable all day usage while allowing users to quickly recharge when needed.

With the Phone 4a series, Nothing appears to be strengthening its position in the crowded mid range smartphone market. By combining distinctive design elements, strong hardware specifications and competitive pricing, the company is targeting users looking for something visually different without moving into flagship level pricing.
