OnePlus 16 Leak Hints at 200MP Camera, Massive 9000mAh Battery and Next Gen Snapdragon Power
Fresh leaks suggest the upcoming OnePlus 16 could feature a flagship Snapdragon chipset, powerful 200MP zoom camera, ultra smooth display, and a huge battery aimed at heavy smartphone users.

OnePlus may soon enter the flagship smartphone race with another high performance device, as new leaks surrounding the upcoming OnePlus 16 have started gaining attention online. The smartphone is expected to arrive with several major hardware upgrades, including a powerful Snapdragon processor, a large battery, and an advanced camera system designed for premium users.
According to fresh reports shared by popular tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the OnePlus 16 could feature Qualcomm’s rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. The processor is said to carry the model number SM8975 and may offer clock speeds reaching up to 5GHz. If the leak turns out to be accurate, the device could become one of the fastest Android smartphones in the market.
The camera setup is expected to be another major highlight of the upcoming phone. Reports suggest that OnePlus is preparing a 200MP periscope telephoto camera for the OnePlus 16, which would mark a significant jump in zoom photography capabilities. Earlier leaks also hinted that the sensor size could be larger than usual, potentially helping users capture more detailed and brighter images in different lighting conditions.
Apart from the telephoto lens, the rear camera setup may also include a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra wide camera. With these upgrades, OnePlus appears to be focusing heavily on flagship level photography and videography performance.
Battery capacity could also see a dramatic improvement this year. Leaks claim that the OnePlus 16 may come equipped with a huge 9000mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries ever seen in a premium smartphone. Such a battery could attract users looking for extended gaming, streaming, and multitasking performance without worrying about frequent charging.
The display specifications have also surfaced again through recent leaks. The smartphone is expected to feature a flat BOE display panel with an extremely high refresh rate. Earlier reports suggested that OnePlus was internally testing refresh rates as high as 240Hz, although it remains unclear whether the final commercial version will support the full 240Hz capability.
The display may also use LTPO and LIPO packaging technologies, which could help reduce the bezels around the screen to nearly 1mm. This would give the device a more premium edge to edge appearance while improving the viewing experience for users.
Several additional flagship features are also rumored for the OnePlus 16. The phone may include an X axis linear motor for enhanced haptics, symmetrical dual stereo speakers, full water resistance support, and a dedicated AI button for quick access to smart features. Reports also suggest the smartphone could run on OxygenOS 17 based on Android 17 out of the box.
While OnePlus has not officially confirmed the launch timeline of the OnePlus 16, industry watchers expect the smartphone to debut later this year. The company launched the OnePlus 15 during the fourth quarter of 2025, and the upcoming flagship is expected to follow a similar release schedule.
Pricing leaks indicate that the OnePlus 16 may arrive with a starting price of around Rs 75999 for the base variant. For comparison, the OnePlus 15 was introduced at Rs 72999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version, while the higher end 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model was priced at Rs 79999.
With these leaked specifications, the OnePlus 16 is already shaping up to be a serious contender in the premium Android smartphone segment. From a massive battery to an upgraded zoom camera and next generation processor, the device could target users who want both performance and long lasting reliability in a single package.
