Poco introduces an affordable 5G smartphone with large battery, 120Hz display, expandable storage and Android 16 based software, aiming to deliver strong performance and long battery life at an entry level price.

Poco has expanded its budget smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Poco C85x 5G, a device aimed at users looking for modern connectivity and long battery life without spending heavily. The smartphone enters the market with a starting price of Rs 10999 and will be available for purchase from March 14 through the online marketplace Flipkart.

The new smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T8300 processor paired with the Arm Mali G57 MC2 graphics unit. This hardware combination is designed to handle everyday smartphone tasks such as browsing, social media usage, streaming and light gaming. Poco has equipped the device with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with internal storage options of 64GB and 128GB.

To improve multitasking performance, the company has also included virtual RAM support of up to 4GB. This allows the device to expand its total usable memory to 8GB when required. Users who need additional storage space can expand the memory further using a microSD card up to 1TB.

The Poco C85x 5G features a large 6.9 inch HD plus display with a resolution of 1600 by 720 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which helps deliver smoother scrolling and animations during daily use. The display can reach a peak brightness level of 810 nits, making it easier to view content even under bright lighting conditions.

For eye comfort, the screen has received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications. These features are intended to reduce eye strain during prolonged smartphone usage, particularly when reading or watching videos.

Battery performance is one of the major highlights of the new Poco phone. The device packs a large 6300mAh battery designed to provide extended usage throughout the day. It supports 15W fast charging to refill the battery when needed. Poco has also included 7.5W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to share power with compatible devices such as earbuds or other smartphones.

In terms of photography, the smartphone comes with a dual camera setup on the rear panel. The primary camera features a 32 megapixel sensor designed to capture detailed images in everyday shooting conditions. A secondary camera is also included to assist with additional photography functions. An LED flash is present to improve low light photography.

The Poco C85x 5G runs on Android 16 based HyperOS, bringing the company’s latest software experience to the budget segment. The interface focuses on smooth navigation, improved system management and better integration with Xiaomi ecosystem devices.

Security features include a side mounted fingerprint scanner that allows users to unlock the device quickly and securely. The phone also carries an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance, providing a basic level of protection against splashes and dust exposure.

Connectivity features on the device include support for multiple 5G bands along with dual 4G VoLTE. Additional options include WiFi 802.11 ac with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz support, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS with GLONASS and a USB Type C port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which remains useful for users who prefer wired audio accessories.

Poco is offering the C85x 5G in two main storage variants. The base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 10999. The higher variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is available for Rs 11999. Both models support virtual RAM expansion.

The device will be available in three color options including Black, Gold and Green. With its combination of a large display, strong battery capacity and affordable pricing, the Poco C85x 5G aims to attract budget conscious buyers who want access to 5G connectivity and reliable everyday performance.
